We have wet u/f heating in a new extension, with Polypipe PBPRP programmable room thermostats. Apart from the fact these are a nightmare to programme, I wondered if anyone had any thoughts on the most efficient way to set them?
We want warmth morning and evening: the Optimum Start feature sets the boiler going a couple of hours early in order to reach the comfort temperature at the specified time, but then, of course, the floor keeps chucking out heat all day when the sun shines in, and the room is mafting! And if we light the log burner, the Optimum Start is completely confused!
Is it more efficient to programme for peaks and troughs like this, set it to switch off before the comfort temp is required, or set a slightly lower temperature all day (and night?). Any thoughts welcome! Thanks
