Hi all,

I'm putting in a new Soil stack for my new ensuite.

My soil waste is dropping from the garage on a horizontal run in the ceiling (with the correct drop of course) and then straight through the wall into the stack.

I would like to connect is straight into the stack avoiding the need to bring it out to one side and then create more bends. A bit like this picture although my stack will obviously go much higher :)

I asked by Building Control officer if this was fine and he said it was. However it looks to me that the fittings don't really lend themselves very well to what I want to do. i.e. the socket that would take the horizontal pipe seems too chunky to face back towards the brick?

For example this one:

Ideally I'd go for something with an access point like this one:

What is the best thing I can buy to allow me to connect the horizontal run straight through the wall and into the stack?

Cheers
Jon

Common practice to 'bury' the joint in the wall in this situation. Provided the joint is made properly it'll never leak. Chamfer the spigot of the pipe, and use correct jointing lubricant.
