Hi,

Just re done silicon ,bath against tiles but want to also fix the leak that was present due to badly fitted shower door (not my work). Attached are photos should I silicon only the outside of the pivot and hinge leaving the inside for drainage? Previous effort was siliconed on the inside and the water would escape. Also how should I cut the new bottom seal when it arrives as the one that come off was short and cracked and looked like it had never sealed correctly and was just butted up to the hinge but the opposite end had been cut with what looks like an effort to go round the bottom post of the hinge but at some stage someone had swapped ends.

Thanks

I would seal all round it.

When the new seal comes, just cut it the same length as the bottom of the glass, and slide it on

Yes I am going for outside edge only the previous attempt by the original installer had done the inside along the bottom edge not sure about verticals on the inside but I have now down the verticals on the outside and await the new bottom seal to see how that performs.

Before looking into fixing the problems water was leaking out at an alarming rate but probably mostly due to the hardened bottom seal. But it was very strange how the seal had been shaped as if to go round the bottom post/hinge yet this cut bit was at the wrong end of the screen. Should it just be butted up given the profile of the hinge?
