Looks like a great installation but its pretty grim aesthetically in my eyes. A lot of work and expense when a nicer flag would really transform it.

Nothing against you its the homeowners choice afterall but sometimes people need steered by the tradesman who often have more experience and a clearer idea of what it will look like once done.

Do you have issues with flag staining on budget 2x2's? I am seeing it occasionally with permenant white efflouresence type staining (Is definately not efflo) which i am told is caused by poor drying/curing techniques.
 
I think we agreed the best description was "minimalist". They didn't want any texture either. Ho hum.

The one oddity is some slabs have prolonged wet staining. One in particular seemed to be permanently wet. Most odd.

This is the second biggest patio I've laid. The biggest was Indian stone and didn't cost much more but was a pig to lay.
 
My theory is the wet staining may have something to do with the orientation of the pimples but I might be wrong.
