I'm hoping someone can help and advise what to do. My home was built around 1963. There was a small bathroom with a bath and basin. The toilet was in a separate room. Fast forward to 2016 - I had the wall between the loo and the bath/basin knocked down and a bath waste is now plumbed into where...

Thanks foxhole. You say 'build' but googling 'mdf shelf units' shows a lot of ready made things on the market, hopefully only requiring assembly. All the ones I have looked at are either one foot or two feet depth, so I'll see if I can find something that uses the available 18 inches depth.

Build in an MDF shelf unit , panel full height down the sides then shelving across.Brace to rear under any shelf likely to take heavy load.
