    Hi Ian, I saw your post about boarding up under the stairs. Doing the same right now and deciding between curved or boxed up and I really liked what you where doing with yours.

    Hello Ian, I am building a rear single storey extension and might need to put a rsj in the middle to cut the timber roof span in half, could you give me the contacts of your SE as you said Rochdale doesnt accept online one. Im in Rochdale area as well. Cheers.

    No, i dont have an architect. I apply for the scheme call larger home extension, it allow to build a 6m length extension on my semi detached, with some simply drawing I draw it myself. Also apply for building notice afterward.
    At the moment the trench been dug, inspected and filled. waiting for next week to build up the wall.

    the extension will be a flat roof, and found out the roof joist will have to be very big coz it will span 6m, so hoping to have a rsj diagonally in the middle to make the timber span cut to half, to use a smaller size timber.

    Sorry for the slow reply. Do you travel as far as Rochdale to work? I need a roof job done and am struggling to get a local recommendation and from reading your posts your obviously very knowledgable on roofing.
