    Fridge/Freezer power cord too short.

Thanks to you all for replying. I ended up cutting through the cabinet. Didn't want to void the warranty by using an extension; you know how picky companies are! All the best, Ex

    Fridge/Freezer power cord too short.

OK thanks for that. I'll have a look and see if I can cut a piece out of the wood then.

    Fridge/Freezer power cord too short.

Hi. Thanks for your reply. Not really. It's a fitted kitchen so I'd have to cut through two panels to get the plug to the nearest socket. And that's the spur from the one the old fridge was plugged in to so I'm not sure how safe that would be anyway? I've attached a few pictures for reference.

    Fridge/Freezer power cord too short.

Hi, My fridge/freezer died on Saturday. Bought a new one and tried installing today, but the power cord is too short. Thought I could solve this issue as the socket is one of those wall mounted ones, not inset in the wall. Thought it was coming from the socket near it, but nope, it's going...

    What's going on here?

You missed where I asked why the black (N) is looped. I already thanked the respondent's for their input, I just asked one more question, but it's gotten lost in this argument.

    What's going on here?

Thanks for the quick replies! It's been like it for at least the last four years since we moved in so I don't think we're in any immediate danger. ;) The light switches are for two small wall lights which are also on the circuit. Sorry, I forgot to add them! So it actually goes: 2-gang...

    What's going on here?

Hi all, I've been trying to change the sockets in my bedroom from basic white to Black Nickel. Can anyone tell me what the heck is going on in the attached picture? The way it's set up is this: Regular grey wire with black (N), Red (L) and Green/Yellow (E) wires which go into a 2-gang...

Between Floor Insulation/Sound Proofing Advice Please

Hi JohnD, The mineral wool batts, are those like the Rockwool Flexi I mentioned above? Is there just a generic one what says "Mineral Wool" on the packaging? Just so I know what to look for when I go out. Cheers! Ex. Edit: Just been having a browse of the shed websites. Could I use this...

Between Floor Insulation/Sound Proofing Advice Please

Thanks for your reply Richard. I was looking at getting some Rockwool Flexi for the soundproofing, but my joists are off; some are 41cm, some 42cm, some 39cm! All over the shop! And that's on the original part of the house, I can't currently get to the joists on the extension part, so who knows...

Between Floor Insulation/Sound Proofing Advice Please

Hi, My Mum and I recently moved into a Chalet Bungalow which was built sometime in the 70's. Long story short, my Mum gets cold really easily and I tend to overheat. She's let me have the upstairs rooms (the original 70's construction and a loft conversion done sometime in the 80's) but as heat...

    Triton Enrich Air in system?

Hi guys, Hope this'll just be a quick question: I've just replaced a (very!) old T80i shower with a new Enrich one and it's all fine. But when I did the commissioning the water just seemed to keep on bubbling out. It gets better when I turn the dial up high, but when I turn it back to the...

    Remove/Replace Plastic Kitchen Sink

After some fiddling I did, eventually, manage to remove the sink. Phew! Thanks for your imput. :D Just another quick question if I may: once I'd tuned it around and plumbed everything back in, I noticed that the waste under the basin strainer is dripping a bit. It's done this before, so I...
