It was a small leak from a dishwasher. We are certain this is what caused this as you can track the water. Definitely no under floor heating. We've been here for 20+ years. Worry is, if we repair this, what else might happen?

I think I am missg something. I've attached a pic of some pretty lightweight hinges I have outside. This is the same type of hinge on one gate and two sheds. They all need 30mm of post showing in order to fit the hinge? I cant see how I would do that if the gate is 900mm and the gap between...

The gate is 900mm wide, the gap as you say is about 915mm. I don't have the hinges to hand, but the other I have at home on gates/sheds need at least an inch to fit the hinge. I can't see how this would leave enough room to do inside?

The new one isn't really lending itself to modification ☹️☹️

Ah, that won't work then. As I say the gap between the two inner edges is only 915mm. The gates 900mm, so there isn't enough room ☹️

Thanks mate. So I will stick with my first idea, with your suggestion of coach bolts, SDS drill (not hammer), and that Bosch bit. When you say take into account the rebate, what did you mean? And that's lead me to remember I somehow need to fit some timber to act as a rebate. Any ideas? Just...

I've found that multipurpose bit. I don't have a core bit. Happy to buy whichever is best....

Thanks - yes they are the green exterior. I'll have a look for the right size as the ones I linked to were 200mm and would need to be cut. Next query. I have my own mains combi drill and can borrow a SDS drill. Which shall I use and what drill bit will get me through the post with least grief!
