Hi again all. After successfully installing some soffit lights, which work amazing with the Quinetic WiFi receiver, I’m wondering if a can buy another to control my outside up and down lights. The only problem is the dusk till dawn lights I have at the moment require you switching them on and off twice at the wall to work as dusk till dawn. Switching on once just allows the lights to work as pir lights.

I just want the Quinetic switch to control them as normal lights. does this mean getting 2 new lights without the dusk till dawn function?

Do you have a model number/manual for the lights?
Are they interlinked?
If they are, I'm wondering if the Quinetic could trigger the interlink, as if it were a PIR activation?

If you can get to the internals of the lights you should be able to short out any sensors inside or even easier stick a piece of black tape over dusk to dawn sensor and they will think it is constantly dark and switch on.

Just tried that. I turn it on once and stays on for about 7 seconds, then goes off. I then wave my hand in front and it comes on for another 7 seconds and goes off

Thanks for the instructions.
You mentioned switching on and off twice to activate dawn to dusk, but there is no mention of that in the instructions.
Could you try turning the Day/Night dial fully anticlockwise, and see if the light simply turns on and off with the switch?

Switching it on once activates pir. Switching it on/off/on activates dusk till dawn. Think it’s 2 new lights with no pir or photocell

Interesting undocumented feature! There is nothing in the instructions to suggest both modes wouldn't work concurrently. With the day/night dial turned fully anticlockwise, do the lamps stay on in dusk til dawn mode?

If you feel like taking one down and sharing some photos, we may be able to suggest how to take it apart and bypass the electronics?

If I turn the dusk/dawn anticlockwise the light stays on but need to switch it on/off/on for this to happen. otherwise if I just turn it on once, only the pie function works
