Would anyone recognise this type of radiator valve?

Hi, wondered if anyone knew if this (pictures with white head on it) was the trv end of a radiator?
I'd like to be able to replace this with a modern trv with numbers on it, but wasn't confident about removing it
in case it was the lockshield end or something..is it OK to remove it and see, do you think?

the picture with no head shows the other end of the radiator and I'm thinking that may be the lockshield valve?..

Thanks for your help

Looks like a TRV with a decorators cap on it, just unscrew it and see what's underneath. Trouble with getting a proper head for it is that not every TRV valve is made equal so one TRV head will not necessarily work on another valve, they are not all interchangeable.
