Another roofer came today and said what you all said, take it all down.
The birdsmouth are holding the entire weight by the thinest slither of wood.
To attach the wall plate to the house they've used wood screws, not bolts,
The rafters are 2x1 and should be 7x2,
The plastic tiles have been fitted incorrectly,
Flashing isn't far enough into the mortar as the house is rendered and should be a min of 50mm not the 20mm they've dpne,
Wall plate isn't big enough and is up at one end not connected to the lean to at all,
Ends of side pieces not capped
I could go on.
It's all coming down. He also said Building Regs should have been contacted and we're to do that. Therefore would the onus have been on us or the roofing company? There was a polycarbonate roof on when he moved in but it leakes, he had it replaced to this plastic slate system to stop the water. Truth is it has poured in today all down his walls inside, floor covered and new electrics all wet.
I will contact the council but wonder if we will get fines for having the lean to roof replaced?
Thanks again
