Confirmation surely that the global economy needs a reset. Has Globalisation delivered what it promised 40 years ago, no, it hasn't.
I think a few leaders have wondered about how to go about a correction. Trump has just simply taken a sledge hammer to it, will it work?, I don't know.

Trumpf’s tariffs are consistent with globalisation, he’s just trying to tax it. Our standard of living is down to cheap imports and expensive credit.

Trump has simply made the world realise America is not a trustworthy place to business and the rest of the world are simply re routing supply chains to cut out America.
 
A digital service tax is a good idea to protect us from over reaching power of digital businesses avoiding fair tax.

Hilarious that Filly who has spent years whining about the EU being protectionist is now screaming how great it is that Trump is being protectionist.

I don’t remember Filly saying it’s good that the EU wanted to put tariffs on Chinese steel to prevent dumping…..something the Tory govt at the time refused to vote for in EU Parliament.

Nothing wrong with protectionism, but there's a lot wrong with being protectionist and pretending otherwise.
Why pretend to be a bastion of free trade whilst at the same time doing whatever it takes to protect local farmers. I'm more than happy to see the EU throw their lot in with China, I'm more than happy that our current govt have finally recognised how dangerous and vindictive China can be hence the emergency sitting of Parliament over the weekend.

When has this government ever not recognised it……what you should be asking is why the previous 14 years of Tories never recognised it.

I might remind you it was the Conservatives who prevent EU from stopping Chinese steel dumping.
And I might remind you it was Conservatives who negotiated the Hinckley point C power station using Chinese finance.
