Electricity usage from a gas boiler

No sadly not, just looking to buy an energy monitor to see what we can uncover.

Electricity usage from a gas boiler

Not as far as we know @Nige F , and when I turned off the boiler at the fuse and reset the heating controls we had no hot water so I am reasonably confident. @Harry Bloomfield We have an Ideal Logic+ Heat 24 - the user guide seems to say it pulls 46W so if 50 for the pump that seems to work...

Electricity usage from a gas boiler

Hi, We have a fault with our heating system in that the boiler is powering one of the heating zones 24/7. We are getting the boiler replaced and everything fixed so not looking for advice on this. However we have just noticed our electricity bill for this house (moved in recently) is really...

Pros / Cons of programmable radiator valves

Ok, it looks like the Energenie might not be a very reliable brand but the Honeywell looks good, although at a higher price. Tado seems to only be compatible with combi boilers

Pros / Cons of programmable radiator valves

Hi, We are getting a new Ideal Boiler (not combi) fitted into a 3 storey town house. It has a 2 zone system - split for downstairs / 2 upper floors. We have bought 2 Nest thermostats, one for each zone. In the downstairs zone all but the cloakroom rad have existing Myson TRVs. As part of the...

TRV radiators not controlled by heating timer

You are right there! :D It does seem crazy as when the downstairs gets too hot we are cold upstairs unless we turn up the thermostat to nuke levels but there are no thermostats upstairs. Turning down the hall thermostat has no effect on the downstairs rads, only changing the TRVs makes a...

TRV radiators not controlled by heating timer

Ah, so one for the hot water (honeywell) and two siemens - one for each zone of heating. That makes sense! Thank you.

TRV radiators not controlled by heating timer

@ianmcd yes he def said the radiator valves as he was saying we needed to replace them all. If he had meant zone valves surely we would only need to replace one as the upstairs and hot water are ok. I will double check once we get the quote for the work from him though, thanks.

TRV radiators not controlled by heating timer

@terryplumb The valves are Myson TRV 2 Way that look like this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Myson-Contract-Thermostatic-Radiator-Replacement/dp/B00GNBMHEC/ref=asc_df_B00GNBMHEC Only the little icon next to the MYSON text looks different like the design on this one but all black...

TRV radiators not controlled by heating timer

@Chris_W where would the motorised valve be? Is it part of the boiler? There is a Siemens RWB9 programmer next to the boiler https://assets.new.siemens.com/siemens/assets/api/uuid:e1ab3004c85be9d0124154b347f13fb3bc193b98/rwb9-datasheet.pdf This may control the hot water and does not control...

TRV radiators not controlled by heating timer

We have just moved into a new house (not new build just new to us) and the heating system seems a mess, or we just are not using it correctly. There is an Ideal Logic+ boiler providing central heating and hot water via a tank. All the downstairs radiators apart from the hall have TRVs on and...
