Baxi 105e instant pump running constant

It looks like the only parts I can buy are the diaphagms. The only complete valves I can see are for a different model boiler so I'll buy both diaphagms and find an engineer. May change the micro switched as well. Any thoughts on changing the operating head while he's here?

Baxi 105e instant pump running constant

The board has been changed and the fan light hasn't returned. Still the pump runs though so may be either diaphagms or the switches, or both. I'm getting ready to buy the kits. Just need an engineer to fit them. One has been fitted in the past as I can see that the ally washer wasn't completely...

Baxi 105e instant pump running constant

Yes, I did actually looked at the two switches on the diverter valve and they were "clicking" ok. Thats not to say they are contacting well though. Its just finding an engineer who would work to fix problems on boilers rather than making the "quick call" and blaming the board. No testing or...

Baxi 105e instant pump running constant

Gas 112. There was a flashing light on the fan decal at one point before the engineer did the service but it hasn't come on since and I was there when he checked the fan. It wasn't flashing when he came to do the service.

Baxi 105e instant pump running constant

Thanks for that DP. I think I'm in the same mind as you. All these companies prefer to sell a new boiler rather than mend the fault. This all started when the venturi valve fell to bits. It was "whistling" while the shower was running. I had to run the hot tap on the basin before the burner...

Baxi 105e instant pump running constant

I have a Baxi 105e instant. I had it serviced and noticed a couple days after the engineer had gone that the pump was running constantly even after it had done the heat res cycle. I called the guy back who says it may be the board but the company he works for just wanted to sell me a new boiler...

    softner info please

Thanks for the input. I buy my salt from Wickes 25kg for £22 and even if I took advantage of the ten bags offer I'm not sure I would have the space to store it! I'm sure there are other systems that don't use the salt tablets which is why I posted this.

    softner info please

Quite a while ago we had a softner installed as we live in a hard water area and the hot water heat exchanger in the combi boiler was constantly needing replacement. Also the washing machine was suffering from much of the same. The softner is the type that takes the salt tablets from Wickes so...

    Looking for a knob!

It is indeed the bolt handle/knob that locks the table for a random angle cut. The thread was easy to identify using a bolt that screws into the thread in the table, then measuring it. It only requires about 35mm of thread to lock the table in this partucular model saw, plus the handle...

    Looking for a knob!

Well I've measured it at 11.8 mm which is probably a Chineese 12mm! Think I may have a spare angle grinder handle that has a 12mm thread on it but it will need to be extended to make it work I think.

    Looking for a knob!

All the table locking knobs are M10 but this one requires a M11. I've found a suitable bolt. Just going to fashon a knob to make it work.

    Looking for a knob!

Thanks to all for the replies. I've had a trawl on fleabay and actually (finaly) found a lock knob with a 10mm thread and 35mm long. I'll have a look in the morning to see if it will fit before I buy one. You are correct Freddy. I will sell it on as I do have a much better saw than this guild...

    Looking for a knob!

Thanks Rodders. I'll give that a go. I'll also have a look at what the thred is. I may have a go at making one up if I can't get one.

    Looking for a knob!

Hi all. I recently bought a collapsable bench from a guy and with it cam an "as new" Guild sliding mitre saw but the locking knob on the table is missing. Anyone know where I can find one from please? I don't need it as I already have a decent mitre saw. When I find a knob I'll sell it on...

    Painting prep problem

Wayners. Thanks for the input. There use to be a firm in Rochester that did that dipping but long gone now. Plus it would be near impossible to take it all to bits. Spraying is out as well. I bet that Shellac stuff has a pong to it but I'll give it a try if I can find it. So far, the only stuff...

    Painting prep problem

The wife thought it would be nice to have everything white. Walls, ceilings, woodwork, the lot. I've done most of it and now I've got to the stairs. Didn't fancy painting 150 staircase spindles and the bottom rail needed to be raised 10mm on the landing so it ended up higher than the proposed...

    Baxi venturi valve problem

Hi. Thanks for the reply on this. If you know anything about water softeners you will know that its not a good idea to consume water treated through a softener. Installation regs require you to have a mains supply for any human consumption of the water, so you can rule out what it may be doing...

    Baxi venturi valve problem

I'm digging this thread up as this problem hasn't gone away. The last valve was fitted just four months ago and its happening again. The last valve was a genuine Baxi part. If its being eroded by the chemicals from the water softener, what do I need to do to get the water to a state where it...

    Baxi venturi valve problem

Its a big one that you load with salt tabs and yes, it does the whole house apart from the fresh cold tap in the kitchen.

    Baxi venturi valve problem

I posted on here at the beginning of the year concerning my shower running hot, then cold all the time. Its fed by a Baxi 105e instant which has served us well for a very long time. After a couple of calls from our friends from British Gas (on contract) which was unsuccessful in the fix, I had a...
