break double glazed glass

Hi, I got a double glazed glass replaced on my patio door that has an in-built blinds which malfunctioned. The fitter would not take it to dispose it off and council said they do not collect double glazed panes and mirrors for recycling / disposal. The door is too big to fit in my car to take...
