Hi all
An LED dimmer with a chrome plate has broken - it no longer clicks or turns on the light when you push the switch in.
I'm assuming I need to replace the black dimmer module, as shown in the pic below, but I'm unsure how to detach it from the chrome plate at the moment. It looks like it...
Hi,
Apologies if this is in the wrong place/wrongly formatted etc, first time poster here.
I am currently looking at swapping our old "dumb" bulbs in two rooms with smart LED strips to be wired into the mains, and fit into some cornicing/coving. We know someone who is fitting it for us, but...
We had dimmable downlighters installed in our bathroom a few years ago. One of the lights stopped working, so I undid it in order to see what LED I need to replace it with. However it's very confusing (see picture). I do not know what this bulb or unit is? Can anyone help? Is this a job for an...
Hi, apologies for what may be a dumb question!
I'm planning to upgrade a broken dimmer switch which was rated up to 250w with an LED-compatible one (the Varilight JQP401W), which is apparently only rated up to 120w.
I initially assumed this would be fine as the switch only controls a single...
I bought some Mihome switches (not dimmer switches) to be able to automate my external lights which are fitted with non dimmable LED's. I fitted the first switch only for the lights not to work. I don't really want to have to change all the LED lamps to dimmable at added expense.
Does anyone...
Every so often, when I switch off the bathroom light (which also switches off the extractor fan) the 5x dimmer spotlights in the living room dim (quite significantly) for a split second before brightening again. Seems to be the only combination of things to cause this - no other lights affected...
Can somebody help me understand what my dimmer is capable of please?
I've recently ordered an aurora aone 250w smart dimmer (because I'm tired of my smart bulbs becoming inaccessible when people flick the switch, so this way I just use normal dimmable bulbs).
The minimum load is 10w, the...
I am a novice when it comes to the 5amp circuits and LED bulbs
We have a 5 amp circuit for lighting in one room with no dimmer attached.
We plugged a lamp with a dimmable 6w LED bulb (it was the only bulb we had) into the 5amp circuit.
The light from the bulb was significantly less than when we...
Dear all,
I currently have a 5 bulb chandelier (image attached) that holds 5 240v 42w Bayonet bulbs; these are controlled by a 1 way dimmer switch. We have had this set-up for a while without issue.
We thought we would start moving to LED bulbs so bought some LED Filament dimmable candles...
Hey there!
I have an open plan kitchen-dining room, each has a 3x3 grid of spot lights with LEDs. 9 LEDs per room, 18 in total, all going in to a 2-gang dimmer switch (so each knob controls 9 LEDs).
Now, when I first moved in a few years ago, I swapped all the halogens in the house (every...
Just a quick post that some on here may find amusing.
The other day I replaced the non-dimmable LED light bulbs in the living room and downstairs hallway with dimmable counterparts as they can be used with automated Z-Wave switches what don't require a neutral connection. (Hallway and Living...
Hi All
I have a double room currently fitted with twelve 35w halogen GU10's (6 each side of room) and a standard 2 gang dimmer.
What is the best option to convert this to Dimmable LED's ?
A trailing edge dimmer and standard led's ?
Or a standard dimmer and Dimmable led's ??
Price is also a...
Hi,
I am in the process of redecorating my dining room which has 4 flush r63 spots attached to a dimmer. I don't want to mess with the ceiling so I intend replacing the r63 housings and using r63 dimmable LED's.
Question is what dimmer should I be using for this?
This is what I was planning...
