Is it Legal to Paint Outside Gas Box? the box outside that has your Gas Meter.

I own the house.
Thanks :)
Recently moved. We are a detached house and have a side passage back to the previously built extension to the boundary.
There was a free standing polycarbonate roof over this passage but no side wall/fence. Due to this you can just step around our gate and access the space, so it is totally un...
Hello, we are having some storage built for understairs cupboard. Now that it's been opened up you can see the gas meter flex hose sticks out a which will interfere with the new drawers. I wonder if I could loosen the bolts and rotate that hose and regulator 90 degrees so it's parallel with the...
Hi, my mate has bought a flat which has a gas boiler and hob.
There's also a meter.
He's contacted British Gas who said there is no record of it having a gas supply.
They suggested having the meter removed and cadent coming to see if it's got gas.
Mentioned something about getting it capped too...
Hi!
I am currently buying a brand new (just converted) HMO (House of Multiple Occupation), which means that the 6 bedrooms are rented out per room (and tenants sharing the kitchen). (It is in England).
Usually the gas meter and shut off valve are moved to a communal area (or outside) when...
Apologies-I've waded through all the posts on this subject and i think i know the answer to my question but would appreciate confirmation.

Hi all, thanks in advance for any help you can provide!
My gas meter is currently situated in a recessed box on the outside of my house, just in front of the current garage entrance. Service pipe entering the meter looks to me to be white plastic.
As part of some building work, my garage is...
Hi There,
We need some help..please. We have been told SO many different things about this - its impossible to know who to believe. For the record - I'm a chef - not a gas engineer.
We have been happily working from 2 commercial kitchens on the ground floor in our commercial catering premises...
Morning everyone,
Sorry its a long post.
I'm hoping to get some advice about moving a gas meter and supply pipe for an extension I'm planning.
Let me first say i have no intention of carrying out any gas works myself although I can do the donkey work lifting floorboards etc.
We need to move...
Hi Guys,
I've only recently found this forum and has to be said, there's some interesting reading still to be done but I have a question I can't find an answer to:
I'm redesigning my kitchen and it's pretty small with restrictions for equipment location (doors on 3 of the 4 walls) and would...

Hi hoping someone can help. We are planning to build a porch, however the gas and electric meter is next to the front door, which means if we built the porch they would be inside of it, and also the gas service pipe will be built over, which I understand is not allowed.
I’m wondering how I go...
Hi, our gas boiler was moved when we had an extension built and the gas supply pipe is now at least 20m from the meter with many bends. It's time to replace the boiler but my plumber says the gas pressure at the boiler is way too low (I think he said 13?) and advises sorting this out before...
Background:
I have a 1920's terraced house that has had gas (to a single gas fire) at some time in the past, but the previous owner has had the appliance & meter removed. Some of the gas pipework is capped and still in place.
I'm installing central heating so have done a DIY install of...

Hi, just had a storage cupboard installed under the stairs. The gas meter is located in there and has an earth wire attached to one of the top gas pipes.
The thing is is that it now spans across the cupboard opening. My question is whether I can unattach the wire from the top and reattach it to...
