    15mm pipes with sharp right angles through a wall

    Hi guys, looking for a bit of advice on how best to run 15mm pipe for new radiators with sharp right angles on both sides of a wall. I've just had the downstairs living room and hallway re-plastered, and chucked the old crappy rads, and ordered some nice new P+ Stelrads to go on both sides of...

    Re Soldering an Existing Joint

    Hi I need to remove and replace an existing soldered joint on copper pipe. I just wondered is there a special technique for doing this job? Once the old joint is removed, do you need to remove all traces of the old solder from the end of the pipe before resoldering in the usual way? Thanks...

    Simple Soldering Question

    Hello I'm about to solder some piping and have a query. When soldering small 15mm joints, is it best to solder both sides at the same time? Or is it easy to solder the second side without melting the first side you did earlier? Thanks

    Steam generator to steam room suitable pipe and fittings

    Which types of pipes, 1/2" BSP threaded fittings, sealants and washers are suitable to carry steam from a 2.8kW steam generator to a steam cabin, a pipe distance of 400mm? Originally I was thinking 15mm copper pipe soldered onto 15mm x 1/2" BSP female tap connectors (the type with the red fibre...

    Thank you!

    A big thank-you to all that have advice over the past couple of weeks on my radiator install especially but in no particular order @polesapart, @ianmcd, @Lower, @Madrab, @Nige F and @JimCrow. So far...so good: I'm glad I persevered with the bends as I think it made the runs cleaner in the...

    Is there an opposite of soldering flux?

    This is a bit of a curve ball. Is there a substance that can be applied to copper to prevent the spread /adhesion of solder? So if you apply this stuff, the solder would be repelled and the copper remains clean? Sort of a masking fluid /tape that withstands a blow torch. Anything at all?

    Ways to prevent a slip coupler from slipping when soldering onto a vertical copper pipe?

    Any ideals on the best way to preventing a copper solder slip coupler from slipping down a vertical copper pipe while soldering please? The reason for the question is I need to remove a section of vertical copper pipe to install a solder tee fitting to branch off. The vertical pipe is clipped...

    Soldering - where am I going wrong?

    Hi, I keep practising on bits of copper pipe (15m) but consistently get the same problems. FWIW, I'm using Yorkshire fittings but want to add a bit of solder, as is frequently advocated. Method I use is... heat up the joint (smallest flame I can get) remove heat touch solder to see if its...

    Heat gun to solder copper pipe

    Happy Christmas everyone.... Am moving a few radiators after Xmas and have seen YouTube clips of people using heat guns to solder copper pipes using the curved attachment. Looked ok to me, anyone have experience of this rather than using a blow torch?

    Soldering = Headache?

    The other day I was doing quite a lot of soldering (with lead based solder :rolleyes:) in my Kitchen (Making up audio cables) and I noticed that I got a headache towards the end of it. Is this normal? Next time I might think to turn the extractor hood on, as it was near to where I was...
