How does plugging a UPS into a surge protected power strip, draw power away from the UPS?

So according to this article: https://www.se.com/us/en/faqs/FA158852/ Plugging a UPS into a surge protected power strip can cause more powerful equipment plugged into the same surge protected power strip as the UPS, to draw necessary voltage away from the UPS, causing the UPS to switch over to...

Standby Generator or 15KW Battery UPS and 3kw MD

Is it cost economic to use a EV Car Battery or external for home supply outage, use a backup generator or Solar PV. To cover a standing load of 0.5kw and cooking Maximum demand of 3kw it seems a small generator or 15Kwh battery might suffice. What would people suggest as there is no money any...

So my Granddad (who is in hid mid 80's) has had a UPS on his router for a number of years as he lives in a rural area and gets lots of power cuts and power dips. The UPS was 10-11 years old and had started to become unreliable, so I ordered him a new one. In the mean time I sent him this via...

Just a few pics that I took the other day; is it your bog standard generator control panel or is it quite specialised? Don't know anything about the history of it, whether it works, etc... as it was just in a warehouse that I was in briefly moving tables into for long term storage purposes...

Arc flash and UPS cut off when plugged USB cable in!

Just wondering what would have caused the following. I moved my NAS box from my kitchen to above my hallway data cabinet, and when I plugged the USB cable in between my NAS and the UPS, it shorted out all the 5v USB ports on my NAS. Unplug and re-plug the USB cable on the UPS end, same thing...

What do the regs say about sockets fed from portable UPS being RCD Protected?

Just wondering what BS7671 says about fixed sockets being RCD protected when being fed from a portable UPS (i.e. removable rack type UPS) when the the UPS is operating on battery mode and the Line & Neutral conductors are isolated from Earth. (Effectively a Isolated Terra based earthing system.)...

Are lead acid batteries made equal in quality.

I need to get two new 7ah 12V Lead Acid batteries for my 1000va Belkin UPS as they are shot after 3.5 years of use. They clearly need replacing as the UPS just shuts of immediately on power loss and the batteries are very hot and slightly swollen out. Ones even resting around 6V. They are...
