Hello,
I need some help understanding the valves. I've just got a towel rail installed, never had one before and I don't know what the valves at the bottom exactly do, Unfortunately I wasn't in the house when the rail was installed so I couldn't ask and my landlady doesn't know either.

I have a house full of traditional style radiators but valves on either side are normal valves (not TRv). How do I know which is inlet and which is lockshield? Should I assume the inlet is always the same side as the bleed valve? Thanks in advance..
Ignorant question time:
Speedfit 10mm pipe will be coming out of a block wall that will be ultimately tiled and the wall-to-centre measurement for the towel rail is 57mm - 65mm. I’m thinking of using corner valves, with (2-piece) 15-to-10mm adaptors.
My uncertainty, and hence question, is the...
Hi
I'm replacing a towel rail and not surprisingly when I removed the valves the sealing washers fell apart so I need to find some replacements.
Does anyone know what type of washers are used in towel rail valves, are they rubber o-ring or flat washers, or indeed does it really matter?
Thanks
Hi
I need to replace a towel rail that is connected to plastic piping, where the pipes only protrude a short distance from a tiled wall.
My first thoughts are that it's a bad idea to change the valves, because if I were to damage the plastic when removing the olives there is no leeway to cut...
Hello,
I stupidly was fiddling with the isolation valves in my viessmann vitodens 050-W boiler and forgot which direction they go in, I have all valves open currently, the hot and cold water, flow in and flow out valves also. Is this correct?
Hi there,
I have a radiator that was not properly fixed to the wall and is falling away. It is a cast iron, but not too tall. It has HB Signature Thermostatic TRV valve and lockend. I turned the TRV down to the frost symbol and using a screwdriver, turned off the lockend (assuming that a...
Hi,
I've been looking into integrating my smartfit system with an evohome and I've quickly realised it's not possible. I'm going to have to replace my controls but I'd really rather not have to do any plumbing... With that in mind does anyone know of any suitable actuator heads I can use with...
I've got an existing Single radiator in a reasonably large bedroom that is 740mm wide and 620mm high. It doesn't really put out enough heat and is on an external wall. It has a TRV right side and normal valve left. Pipe centres are 820mm. I want to replace it with a double and plan to reuse...
