I am pondering on whether to buy a 6 mm or 8 mm shower door, to be fitted on a 2“ metal stud wall as found in most modern houses. The cause of my indecision is to do with the weight of the door on such flimsy (recessed) walls.
I have currently got the studs exposed and I have added strengthening...
Renovating my en-suite and I wish to add a largish mirror to a wall that will also be tiled. In total though, the weight will slightly exceed the maximum weight for plasterboard i.e. mirror + tiles > 32kg/m sq. As such, i am looking for advice on the best way to strengthen the wall.
I don't yet...

Hi, so I am assessing if my exterior garage/outbuilding can support the weight of a wall mounted weight plate storage rack (See picture two for the rack), there would be two racks both weighing at 80KG~ when plates are fully loaded at two spread-out locations as marked in red, photo 1.
The wall...
I'd like to hang a gas central heating vertical radiator on a single timber stud behind a thin plasterboard wall. The stud is 38mm wide (actual size) and (presumably, difficult to measure) around 75mm deep. The radiator would weigh around 35kg in total, spread across a number of screws which can...
The previous owners of the house I am buying removed the bath from the bathroom, and made a wet room with underfloor heating and large floor tiles.
When we move in, I'd like to add a freestanding bath. I'm able to do the plumbing etc.
My concern is weight. The floor tiles and underfloor...

My partner moved into a new build apartment a while ago.

Hi,
I'm looking at some calculations for a beam. Is it correct that celotex is listed as 0.25kn/m2 ?
Only unsure as it is listing plasterboard and skim at only 0.12kn/m2 and 25mm flooring at 0.13kn/m2
Surely it's not heavier than these two things?
Thanks
