wooden chair

Hi, I've got a wooden chair which has somehow been chipped. I can obtain some touch up paint from the manufacturer but would I need to use a wood filler + sand to get it right (e.g. something like ronseal wood filler). Are there any tips/advice on the best way to tackle this, including any...
