Hi all,
Quick one. I’ve just bought a property with a large outbuilding, a former stable with a timber frame and wood cladding. I’d like to use the building as a large office and studio.
Rather than take the frame and roof down (which are in great condition) I am wondering if the cladding can all come off and block work be built up directly under the frame to create solid walls. Then it can be insulated and re-clad.
Is it a common method to build up block or brick under an existing timber frame? Thought I’d see if anyone has seen this before I approach some builders.
