I reckon it's an arbitrary figure arrived at by BG in an attempt to fool us into thinking our gas bill is actually not increasing faster than inflation.
As the temperature of our gas supply must vary according to the weather, then surely this 1.02264 number must change to take account of variations in temp and pressure? Surely it can't be constant?
Lo and behold on the same page '1.02264 Nonsense A critical look at your gas bill'Click for it Best account of 1.02264 I have found, he did some research too.
I found that if you multiply the answer to life, the universe and everything by the constant, you arrive at the median IQ of a Paul Hardcastle fan. (ie, not, nenenene nineteen)
