10 mm central heating

Does anyone see any problems with branching off a 22mm pipe to a 7700 btu radiator in 10mm?



The whole house its branched off 22mm to each rad in 10mm so pipes can be hidden in walls.


Its running from a 30kw condensing boiler with 8 rads in the house.


Does this seem ok to do or would you use 15mm for this one rad due to the size?

Yes, 10mm will be fine. 10mm pipe is good for between 9-10,000 BTU. If the boiler is a condenser this big rad will help it run more efficiently.

Oversize radiators can heat rooms effectively whilst running at lower water temperatures.

Lower water temperatures keep the boiler working in the condensing mode, absorbing more of the heat generated by the gas burner.

The pipe size required depends upon the length of run as well as the heat load, but you should be OK.

The run is a only about 2 meters long branched off 22mm.
