Hi All

Please could someone give me an idea of cost to wire up 10mm twin and earth to the consumer board ( cable ready )

There is space for RCD and correct sized MCB which I have.

Many Thanks

It's "London".

Could be anything. We know nothing about the circuit. Or what it is powering.
That could be a 50metre run.

I'm also a bit worried about

Sorry for the lack of information, the purpose is for an 8.5kw shower.

The cable has already been run safely and in the correct trunking etc. I have a separate mcb 40 amp and a 63A 30ma RCD to protect and just need the final connection to the consumer unit.

Thanks again

Did you apply for Building Regulations approval before you put the cable in?

Agree with others, not a lot of info to go on.

Did you mean £40?

While design, implementing, testing, etc.. will have to be done and one should only sign of ones own work; £400 seems a little steep to me.

It's not illegal to put a some cable in, wiring it up to the CU and thus adding a new circuit is a another story.

As I said before, probably £42. It is a well known fact that the answer is 42, even if one does not know what the question was :)

The point BAS was presumably getting at is that, if Building Regs approval was not sought up front, when it comes to that 'another story' it is hard to see (in strict legal terms) what alternative there would be to ripping out all the wiring of that 'new circuit' and starting again! Don't forget that he (BAS) lives in a world of 'in strict legal terms'.

Kind Regards, John

I agree, but I was effectively saying he has not broke the law yet.
