Hi Guys,
I'm having a nightmare trying to fing a fitting for a toilet cistern I purchased from ebay. It was imported from China.
The toilet cistern has a built in braided hose and has a male 12mm
connector on the end! I have searched, but found nothing that would attach..
I have a 12mm to 15mm reducer, but need something that would fit the male connector..
Please can you help!
My partner is going mad using a bucket to flush the loo. I think this could cause a breakup!

we don`t use 12mm in this county 8,10 then 15 is toilet inlet possible to connect 15 mm hose to it

I added a 12mm nut and it fitted, so assume its 12mm as 10mm was far too small and 15mm far too big.
Its a plastic incased system, but I can see a lever isolation valve inside which can be acessed through a 2cm x 2cm viewing square.
Any ideas..

Could it not be easier to replace the actual valve, than try and get an adaptor? Obviously, I know nothing about the quality or type of valve you're trying to connect, but basic ones seem to start at a couple of quid, which is probably far less than any specialist adaptor would cost!

ok, I understand what you are saying, I'm not trying to fit a valve, its just that I had one that reduced 15mm to 12mm and fitted, so thats why I know 12mm would fit... but unfortunately I have a male connector to fit onto to. (the braided hose from the cistern)
I suppose a piece of 12mm copper pipe may work if I used the olive and nut from the reducer valve... but where do i purchase 12mm copper pipe from..?

Could this be a compression fitting? ie. Would it take a 10mm microbore pipe with an olive?
A quick measure of a 10mm fitting I have shows the thread to be around the 13mm mark. Note that by 'quick', I used nothing more accurate than a tape measure!

Postulating from this assumption; use the nut and olive from one of these;

I purchased this exact reducer from wickes this afternoon and the nut on the 10mm side is far too small.. - great minds think alike, but unfortunately in this case it didn't work.

Googleyhead! your an absolute star, Thankyou, thats exaactly what I need!
Buckets no more for the partner.. phew... will take her away until monday when the shops are open.
Thankyou so much, not much to you, but you really have relieved a lot of stress. Thankyou so much.

I was in sccrewfix today and purchased the half inch connector and was wa y too big.
Does anyone know where I can get a 12mm to 15 connector or even a piece of 12mm pipe?

Thanks guys,
I went to my local plumbers merchant today and the result was a 3/8 connector.
Muggles and knowyourmoney, thankyou so much for the fantastic advice.
I've worked out the bathroom would have cost me £10,000 if I had tradesman in. Amazing that I've done it for £1200 through sourcing everything from Ebay.
Its amazing what a difference this forum has made to my ability to not only complete a large project (for me) but also comply with all the codes of practice safely and sensibly.
Thankyou all.
