Often a 15mm compression will fit 1/2” imperial
You can get solder fittings as adapters
16mm is a bigger size than 1/2”
Underfloor heating pipe is 16mm= no way it would fit imperial 1/2”
There is heavy gauge copper pipe I have come across for which I keep 16mm compression adapters
