I have a Victorian 16" fireplace with a Type 1 brick chimney, which I would like to convert to a gas with an inset.
The dimensions of the inset area are W40 x D13 but (as you can see from the picture attached) the firebrick reduces the aperture considerably. There are also two lugs (originally for the grate) that also intrude into the fireplace area.
I believe the Verine Midas is the only inset that would fit (Picture, Dimensions) but can anyone suggest any alternatives.
I have a CORGI registered fitter waiting to come and connect the system providing I can find the right inset.
Oh and can someone inform the fireplace manufacturers that not having your prices on the website and not including dimensions on the product page (preferably with a line diagram) is so 1980s!
Regards
Paul
