1960's build concrete apartment with solid internal walls.
I hoped to 'simply' reverse an internal door frame to allow the door to open in the opposite direction (stops are part of frame).
Having exposed the frame the head extends beyond the frame into the brickwork either side by 1.5 inches. The head is 1.375 inch timber and spans just under 3ft.
Above the timber is block work with no further supporting lintel. Is the timber door frame acting as a lintel?
Can I proceed with my intended reversal of the frame or should I give up now?
Thanks in advance.
