Hi all. Before i start i should note that I have zero plumbing knowledge so I apologise if this sounds a bit dense:

2 of my radiators have stopped working. They are situated furthest away from the heating system (but closest to the boiler - i know this sounds wierd but we have a combi linked to a gledhill storage tank that controls the boiler based upon demand. The boiler is in the kitchen, where one of the problem rads is located, but the tank is in the hall about 8.5m away). I have read a few forum threads that suggested bleeding and balancing the rads which i have done to no avail. All other rads heat up (there are 6 in the flat in total) and cool down as normal but the 2 that stopped working dont come close - i have even shut off all other rads at the return valves, put the thermostats on full and opened the return valves fully on the problem rads but nothing happens. The inlet pipe below the thermostatic valves dosent even get warm. They are charged with water and have no air locks in them.

Any suggestions would be welcome because i am truely stuck. If my girl nags me anymore i may even resort to getting a plumber in but i dont really fancy paying 50 bucks for something i could fix myself if i knew where to start!

Thanks

M

It sounds as if the TRV pins may have jammed.

You should be able to read all about it in the FAQs on this site!

Thanks for that Tony - Ill try to free them tonight. I thought this may be the problem but as the pipe up to the TRV was cold i dismissed it.
Now the only problem is if I hit it too hard with a hammer and flood the place out on Valentines day... perhaps ill put it off till the morning!
