Hi guys
A little help required before I delve into this.
We've just moved into this dormer. The electrics are something from Wyatt Earps era... spurs, spitoons and lassoos(?), etc...
Right. The hall has a single rose and two light switches, one either end.
When switch one is put on the lamp lights. When you switch switch two the lamp stays on. When you switch off the first switch the light flickers as if swapping live contacts yet stays on. The only way to switch the lamp off is to switch both switches off.
This is switch one (left block, right block is landing)
Ok... now when switch two is put on the lamp lights. The same scenario exists but no flicker when switching off switch two when switch one is on too. Is this clear? You have to switch off the lamp from the switch you first switched it on at.
This is switch two (left block, right block is porch (which don't work yet))
I initially thought, before opening switches, that a common and L terminal had been swapped in one of the switches... but this doesn't look to be a conventional circuit using strappers!
I haven't got round to opening the flush mounted 1968 ceiling rose yet.
Any ideas from the above images alone, please?
Regards
