2 way switch wiring

during a spate of badly planned DIY our 2 way kitchen lightswitches were replaced, and the wiring was messed up.

At some point the wiring has been spliced, so the colours don't carry through the whole circuit..probably not helping, and certainly making the circuit diagrams seem redundant

Hopefully someone can give me some pointers, current wiring only allows 1 switch to control on/off, I have very basic tools, electrical screwdrivers, "live tester" screwdriver and a multimeter..it can't be that hard?

It's very easy but there are different ways of doing it.

Have a look at the link and see which method matches the wiring in your switches.

thanks, all i know is lots of red wires, one black one
