Solution at bottom of page *************
Freezing weather here.
No hot water or heating so checked the boiler.
Its flashing reset.
Google tells me to thaw the condensate pipe.
I remove loads of ice but when I press the reset button on the boiler it gurgles (sounds if bubbling water) the flame lamp lights up but there's a howling kind of sound and it flames out.
The condensate pipe is clear outside. Drilling holes in it has shown me that.
Well it turns out that part of the condensate drainage system is a syphon.
This has a cap at the bottom of it that you can pop off and drain the crap and water out of it.
There's a small passage to the side of the syphon that is easily blocked. You need to dig that out with a tooth pick.
Lots of water and crap will come out so have a bucket handy.
Hope thus helps someone.
BTW tht service manual is online and shows the syphon and how to get the cap off.
