I'm proud to be a fully paid-up member of the 2A gang!

None of this over-engineered bulky 5A rubbish!

2A till I die!!

Really wierd, but my old house had exactly the same in the lounge. I too fitted a dual box with a telephone on the left and a 2 amp on the right for an illuminated cupboard. I used gold flex too......the wall paper was not too different either!

I actually took a double take!

Not with metal back boxes I hope!

I must concur - 2A outlets rock.

Well, maybe that's a bit over the top. Suffice to say they are most acceptable in my point of view.

I didn't think you could combine LV and data in a metal dual box. ??

I was thinking more of the fact that it's metal, rather than compartmentalised. (Is that a word even? Looks good anyway...)

The reason I've always thought this, is because I was pulled up on putting a TV point too close to a 13A socket outlet once, during an annual NIC inspection. The point being that if the face plates were changed to metal, then as the two plates could touch, this was not permitted. I'm not sure where this is indicated in the regs - I just took the advice of my inspector.

I suppose in this respect, even plastic back boxes would not be permitted.

Have I misunderstood something, or was my inspector wrong, or picky?

Looking good apart from you didnt dress the screws.

I don't know who's sadder: you for noticing that or me for getting out my driver, dressing them, then posting a new pic to prove it.... ;)

Well, I'm much happier about it anyway. :D

And I'm glad you didn't do it vertically. That would have kept me awake at night.

I once wired a house for a (serious) OCD sufferer. I had to wire up all the two-way switches, so that when she went to bed, she knew that all the lightswitches were in the same position and could go to sleep. This even meant fitting a 1-way switch upside down so that she could leave her landing light on!

Why not vertical? I always do my screws like that.

I would have thought it is good practice to wire two way switches so that when both switches are in the same position, the light is off.

Maybe I'm just picky

I tend to do all my screws around ten degrees anticlockwise from horizontal. I prefer the slight slant. All the same though.
