Hi!

I'm hoping someone can help - 3 out of 12 downlights in my kitchen have stopped working. I've had a look in the ceiling and all three are connected to the same transformer so my assumption is the transformer has died.

I'm looking to get a replacement but I'm not sure which one to choose. I'm pretty sure the light fittings etc are around 20 years old - I can (and do) use GU5 5W LED lights in the other downlights and they work as expected.

Here is a picture of the transformer that I think needs replacing:

Am I right in thinking that I could get something like this to replace it?

For context, we're probably going to get an extension in the next year or so and the whole kitchen will be renovated as part of that project so I'm looking for the quick and easy fix here to get those three lights working again.

Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

GU5 5W LED lights
Umm no such thing. Maybe you mean GU5.3 (aka MR16?)
If so, you need to replace that old transformer with an LED DRIVER.
The old transformer is made to power the old halogen lamps. If you have others then expect them to die sooner or later.

You need a 12v constant voltage LED DRIVER of at least 15watts. Something like this
