What do you chaps do with 2 way switching colour codes do you sleeve the black and grey brown ? would red yellow blue now be,brown black grey? me i dunno. :confused:

bLack was bLue, as neutral with t/e but can be bRown sleeved like grey
bRown is Red
grey is extra to use as a strapper or switch line if u bRown sleeve it

Sort of sounds a bit Swahili when I read it back, but does make sense..sorta

You are basically right with what you say.

Old colours > New Colours

Red = Brown
Yellow = Black
Blue = Grey


Yes we do sleeve the Black and Grey with brown sleeving.
Also on one way switching you may have a blue wire (when using the new colours) which will also need sleeving brown.

You are basically right with what you say.

Why do you sleeve the black and grey when they are already phase colours? I cant recall seeing the yellow & blue sleeved red in 2way switching circuits?

They should have been though IIRC. On a single phase install, any phase conductor must be identified red - i thought this was the rule anyway.

EDIT: On a new colour install, they must be coloured brown. :cool:
