My house had a flat roofed extension built early 80's
It was last reroofed around 20 years ago and it is a basic two sided box with a flat lid as a utility area. There is some insulation inside, probably that horrible whispy fibreglass stuff.
The deck is ply? Followed by felt and stone chips, south facing. Upvc soffits
At some point it is going to need replacement
What to replace it with? There are windows 18" above the roof on two sides
Would laying a layer of hard insulation on top of the existing wood ( or a replacement wood deck if it's knackered) be the way to go? Or remove the entire deck and add whatever I can fit between the existing rafters ? Keep the roof flat? Utilise as much of a fall as possible?
Covered with? Given it's 3x3 it could be covered in a single piece of something?
What?
I'd be getting a pro in but just generally want an idea
I have always been careful about walking on it and use a board for access if painting
Thanks in advance !!
