Hi I have a house with an annex where the planning states its part of my house (shared)

The interconnecting door was blocked up about 8 years ago and its its been rented as a separate property ever since.

I would like to apply for the annex to be classified as a seperate house under the 4 year rule.

But would the 4 year or 10 year rule apply?

I believe the 4 year rule only applys to single dwellings and as you have created two the 10 year rule will apply.

But I might be wrong! :p

that's not really much help is it!

Pretty sure breach's of planning conditions are 10 years so I would guess that one of the conditions on your Planning Permission for the conversaion was that it must remain part of the original dwelling house.

That's correct , it did

really hoping I can do this on 4 year rule though. I have only created 1 additional dwelling?
