40 Eco --- "I don't believe it"

On my Zanussi ZWF 12070/W1 the 40 Eco cycle takes longer than the standard 40 cycle. I believe it also has an extra rinse cycle.

Does the Eco cycle really take less total resources (electricity and water) than the standard cycle?

If it takes longer its beause it may be using less actual power to reach the desired temp
think this way
i.e a 3 kw kettle boils up quick, but a 1.5kW still boils but less power and takes a little longer too
as for the water it may use less water so the above comparison still matters
