under a bath, i need to connect a plastic pipe to an exposed chrome pipe. the only way to this (unless anyone can suggest an alternative? in which case please do) is to use a connector with plastic nuts and washers on both ends.

however, the standard sized one that i have in 40 mm diameter is too long. the total length of this including the nuts on either end is 75 mm.

does anyone know of a company that produces connectors that are shorter in length than the standard connector?

thanks

not sarah beeny.

however, that product would appear no better as it is just as long.

i have seen a 135 degree corner connector which is far less long than 75mm, so wondered if there was something similar in a straight 40mm connector, ie the plastic connector with screw nuts on each end but with a skinnier middle section.....

Why do you need a shorter connector? The two pipes entering a standard connector all but meet in the middle. If the connector were any shorter, the pipes would not be supported properly, and could easily move and leak.

If you need to make up a gap between the pipes, then you will need to add a section of pipe. If it's a small gap, you will need to cut back one end so there's enough room for two connectors plus a new piece of pipe.
