Hi, does the 1.5inch to 22mm rubber reducer for waste connections fit straight in to 1.5inch solvent weld pipe or does it go in to solvent weld fittings?

It is designed to go into a boss whose ID is the same as the OD of 11/2"/40mm pipe, hence the question re your strength.
You'd be shoving it into something roughly 4mm smaller than where it is already designed to fit tightly.

If it's for a condensate drain, then the correct reducer is available. 21.5mm to 32mm then you'd need to use a 32-40mm fitting.
Is it accptable to do this though? I pressume it will seal
Yesterday I bought a 21mm to 40mm fitting for my condense pipework,one end into a coupler, 40 mm pipe on the other side
