Recently we have had oil delivered to fuel our Worcester Heatslave 20/25 which heats our home and water. However, when the oil was delivered the oil was not making it round the pipes, which we fixed. Now, when we tried running a bath, there was no hot water. We took a look at the boiler and the 5 amp fuse keeps on blowing, when we changed the fuse and switched the boiler back on at the wall the fuse did not blow like it usually does, however, when we tried switching on the heating or hot water the amp would blow and the problem is still unknown and consistent.
Any ideas whats wrong?

If you have had the pipes apart, you may have got debris in the line or just sludge, which has bunged up your pump. Try cleaning this.

thanks for the advice, but we made sure before we started the boiler and put the pipes back together that there was nothing in there! :)

thanks again though

Clearing air from the oil pipe will have no effect whatever on the fuse blowing problem. Dirt or no dirt. It is a coincidental problem, and is most likely to do with the circulating pump, but could be the burner.

To work out which, unplug the black connector under the control panel. This supplies the burner. If fuse blows, then it is not the burner.

Let us know what you find.

Do any domestic oil boilers recommend a 5 A fuse in the supply?

All gas boilers ask for just 3 A.
