8 flashes (update, 9 flashes)

Hi there

My Whirlpool Dishwasher is stopping mid cycle & flashing 8 times.

Can anybody give me some idea what this means, please?

8 flashes indicate a water level failure.
Normally the cause of this is the sieve and filters are blocked or there's too much foam.

I have checked sieve/filters but they are clean.

Could this also mean a blocked/crimped outlet hose perhaps?

Shouldn't do, that would bring up 4 flashes, drainage failure.
What tablets are you using in the machine? Do you put rinse aid in?

I must have sniffed some of the dishwashing powder!

The error code flashing is 9 flashes not 8!

This probably means operator error!!!

Is this something completely different?

9 flashes indicates a problem with the water coming in, either the valve isn't closing and it's letting water in all the time or the main pcb is faulty.

I did smell 'burning circuit board' type smells so I think the latter prognosis is correct.

Not happy with this dishwasher - had nothing but troubles with it, do you know if it is worth fixing the PCB or maybe get another Brand?
