9450 Alarm

Hi, we have a 9450 alarm box on the wall in our dining room, we moved in over 3 years ago & are now looking at redecorating the room & removing the box. The alarm has never worked as the mains power cable had been cut before we moved in. We have no sensors in any rooms that we can see. I opened up the front panel today, there are 4 thin white cables coming into the unit & splitting off to various locations on the control panel. I can see a battery in there, which is still connected.

Can I remove box without the alarm going off? Guessing the battery will have no power?
We do have a box outside but don't know if there is anything in that or if its attached to any power.

Are there any led's lit on control panel ?
What do you mean by cut? Disconnected from control panel or cable cut with cutters ?
If there is no 230v connected and the battery disconnected, then control panel could be removed. Always make sure the electricity is disconnected first.

The alarm box is on the wall with the main electricity cable going in to it cut. Can be seen on the other side of the wall (accessed via under the stairs cupboard). There has never been any lights on it since we moved in. The battery is still connected inside, but guessing that will have no charge left??

If no 230v power,then remove control panel off wall.
