'99 citroen berlingo engine in a 1.9d in a 02 citroen relay

I have been given a 2002 citroen relay van 1.9d, the same as the expert, scudo etc, I know the older models used the xud9 engine, is it possible to put a 1999 1.9d berlingo engine in, they both have the EGR valve, I think that the P/S pump may be in a different place, but apart from some plumbing mods, is this possible ??
any help would be very much appreciated

Would seem nobody knows for sure then, most of the fully mechanical XUD engines were interchangeable but once electronics started rearing their ugly heads things were not so simple. I think most of the problems involve keypad compatability issues as on the later XUd's the code is stored in the pump. The easiest way to go would be to fit an earlier fully mechanical engine.

Don't mix Engine Codes

Get the same Engine Code and you should be OK
