I’m wanting to get this pipe flatter to the back wall. The bottom part of the pipe is a bonded waste pipe going into the soil system I guess. If I want to turn it is the brown part just sealed into the large pipe with a flanged rubber thing similar to a toilet pan connector, ie can I pull it out and rotate it.

If you haven't already, I wouldn't pull it out, you may find it wont seal properly again when you try and replace it. Gentle pressure/persuasion and it should rotate in situ, enough to get it where you want it anyway.

I’ve not tackled it yet but I will take your advice, thanks
