Hi there, new here so bear with me.
I'm in the process of renovating a very old cottage.
As is fairly normal where I live the cottage is roofed with corrugate sheeting.
The rafters are a metre between centres.
The roof was counter battened so I can insulate the full 4 inches of rafter if I wish without leaving an air gap.
Question is, after insulating between the rafters, with the rafters a metre apart they won't hold plasterboard, or a tongue and groove timber ceiling.
My thought was to batten across at 400mm centres and then fix the plasterboard or timber cladding to this.
But that'll leave a gap between the insulation and the plasterboard, basically the thickness of the battens I use.
Is there any issues having a gap between your insulation and plasterboard/timber cladding?
Hope I've been clear!
Thanks.
