Abacus concept shower base

Has anyone installed an Abacus Concept1 raised shower former?

Been looking at it and I can’t see why I couldn’t just use a slab of Cellotex to do the same job as the Abacus base?

It doesn’t have a cement skin like the former or the boards it just looks like solid blue foam.

Would be interested for your thoughts on this
