Just for Vinty who wants to discuss abortion.
I think women should have control over their own bodies.
I don't think abortion per se should be a crime.

Of course back street, illegal practices could be considered illegal, especially if realtively cheap state run, with medically qualified staff, exist

How about the Israeli clinics used by Palestinian women? Are they safer than a fall from a high rise building in the Gaza?

so other than for medical reason what time limit would you put on them having control

You've fallen for sillyboy's stupid false info'. He does like to post fake information, and you do like to fall for his lies.
The penalty for abortion in Palestine is 3 years prison.
In Ireland it's 14 years prison.

I'm not a medical expert, and I don't disagree with abortion in principle.
I have never really gone into the detail of when.
I only posted the thread because Vinty took me to task about an unrelated comment about abortion.
Feel free to air your views.

Why don't you start from viability and work back.

The law says, you can terminate if under 24 weeks or if there are abnormalities leaving the to be child seriously handicapped or a risk to the mothers life etc.

Why don't we ask women? And medical experts

Or working men should decide ?

I know plumbing involves working with pipes, but not sure it makes you qualified on this subject

its usually the right who are anti abortion

its ironic it’s also the right who moan vociferously about “unmarried mothers scrounging benefits”

Shall we list the Middle Eastern countries who are sympathetic toward abortion.

Israel.
Are there any democratic and egalitarian middle eastern countries? Israel is such a mess it's hard to classify it.

Is that relevant to the UK ?

I notice no women are involved yet

Who said it was restricted to the UK, Roy span the subject off a Middle East thread after all. My concern is that Notch said anti abortion was the preserve of the far right. I'm not convinced that's true. The Middle East position on abortion suggests I'm correct.

He said usually. Not the same at all.

What other countries do is up to them is it not? Or do you think we should have laws imposed on us that we have no say on ?

You diverted the "Terrorism Condemned" thread with a typical false bit of your own imagination.
You claimed that women who had an abortion in Palestine, were thrown off buildings. That was utter nonsense. The penalty for abortion in Palestine is 3 years, a heck of a lot less than the 14 years in Ireland, and heavy fines or lengthy prison sentences in some parts of USA, especially the devout Christian areas.

Notch was just as correct as you were, both extremes of the religious divide are anti-abortion, and by a strange coincidence, they are both on the right of politics. They just look like a different 'right' to what you're familiar with.

I only started the thread as a courtesy to Vinty who appeared to want to discuss it.
